MSU study on monitoring wastewater for coronavirus
The Plowright Lab has a wealth of expertise in studying bats and disease transmission. A key component to answering their research questions is gathering feces and urine from bats in the field and analyzing the samples back in the lab. In March, the lab suggested to other Montana State University scientists the idea of sampling municipal wastewater for coronavirus. And now the results of a collaborative MSU study provides important information on the levels of coronavirus in wastewater and infection rates.
