Hendra Virus Working Group Meeting

We discussed Hendra virus dynamics at our annual working group meeting. This time on Stradbroke Island, Queensland Australia.

Our Hendra virus working group has met annually since 2012; this group of >20 researchers work across the spectrum of the emergence pathway from bat landscape ecology to virus-cell interactions and spillover host behavior.  As well as virologists, immunologists, bat ecologists, mathematical ecologists, equine scientists, disease ecologists etc, we now include social scientists who work on the human behavior part of the emergence pathway, including understanding the poor uptake of the horse vaccine.
