Dr Plowright and Undergraduate student Brooklin Hunt Speak at Global Landscapes Forum

GLF Talk

Dr. Raina Plowright was invited as a keynote speaker at the Global Landscapes Forum. Dr. Plowright was joined by undergraduate researcher Brooklin Hunt. Their talk focused on the transmission of diseases from wildlife to humans and the emerging concept known as “OneHealth,” defined as the interdependency of human, animal, and landscape health. Specifically, they focused on our work on bat-virus ecology. Professor Plowright also discussed the novel concept of “landscape immunity” which is described as the ecological conditions that promote wildlife health and immunity to ultimately protect human health.
