“How does environmental variation shape within- and between-host processes to affect pathogen shedding and spillover risk?”
I combine field studies, data synthesis approaches, theoretical models, and ecoimmunology to understand how pathogens spread within and between wildlife populations in the context of environmental change. I am especially interested in the interface between environmental variation, host immunity, movement ecology, and pathogen shedding, particularly in highly mobile taxa such bats and songbirds.
